Products #
A product is a customer-specific device assembled from generic IoT Ready modules, offering the set of services those modules bring with them.
The distinction matters when reading the rest of these docs:
- A module —
gw,dis, nfc, sun— is a generic building block with its own firmware repository, its own release cycle and its own version. It is written without reference to any product. - A product — NRC1, NRC2 — is a choice of modules, an enclosure and an electrical design, released as a set of module firmwares signed together for that product.
One consequence worth stating plainly: a product does not have “its” firmware to change. Adding a feature means changing a module, and that module is shared with every other product using it.
| Product | What it is | Modules |
|---|---|---|
| NRC1 | Access controller for electronic locks | gw, nfc, dis, sun |
| NRC2 | Fill level sensor | gw, sun |
gw and sun appear in both products, which is the point: the same firmware,
released once, used by whichever product includes the module.
A product’s service table is not a reliable guide to its modules. NRC1’s lists
six services and omits sun altogether.
